1991, Abraxas is an exciting quarterly magazine with a
growing
readership, incorporating
The Colin Wilson Newsletter, bringing
together poetry and
fiction, philosophy and metaphysics. On the
philosophy side, it has published essays by
Colin Wilson on Jacques
Derrida, Alfred North Whitehead, Edmund Husserl and the
Austrian
novelist Robert Musil.
On the literary front it has featured
translations of stories from Pablo
Palacio, Jose de
Cuadre and poems
from D.M. Thomas and Zofia Ilinska. Articles have varied, from
a
penetrating study of criminal messiahs to the virtues of Herod and the angel craze
sweeping America. Furthermore there are book reviews,
reader’s
comments and artwork.
Recently the
format of Abraxas has been changed from an A4 magazine to a Crown Quarto
book of around
250 pages (the present edition is, in fact, 260 pages) renamed ABRAXAS
UNBOUND. This,
it is expected, will be produced bi-annually and future subscribers are
directed to the
notice below: -
